THE COMPACT ORGANIC WASTE STATIONÂ (COWSâ„¢)Â
The Compact Organic Waste Station (COWSâ„¢)Â is an all-in-one solution for reducing the cost and environmental impact of organic waste disposal.
The COWSâ„¢ is small-scale, containerized anaerobic digester that converts food waste into renewable energy and nutrient-rich compost and fertilizer products. Organic waste generated at supermarkets, cafeterias, and hotels, is digested by bacteria in the absence of oxygen to produce a methane-rich biogas, similar to how a real cow digests food. Â This biogas is used onsite to heat water for our client, thereby reducing their utility bills, and the solids remaining after digestion are transported off-site to be refined into a natural compost or fertilizer product.
WHAT DO OUR COWSâ„¢ EAT?
The short answer is any organic material.  In addition to fruits and vegetables, this includes meat, dairy, cardboard, and compostable dishware.  Compared to most composters, which can only accept pre-consumer scraps and refuse meat and dairy, the COWS™ is an all-in-one solution for food waste and organic packaging.
By integrating this cutting-edge technology with affordable service agreements, ReGenerate offers its customers a convenient, lower cost, and greener alternative to their current waste disposal strategies. Our customer benefits from:
- Overall reduced waste management costs
- Safe, on-site hot water production (leading to lower utility bills)
- Larger proportion of waste diverted from landfills than with composting alone
- Odor and rodent-free waste disposal with just one pick-up per month
